Agnes A. "Aggie" Ketchen Obituary (1961 - 2017)

Winthrop ~ Agnes A. “Aggie” Ketchen, 55, of Route 133, died peacefully at home on Monday June 19, 2017, with family by her side, after a long battle with Huntington’s disease. She was born in Boston, MA. on September 8, 1961, the daughter of John and Agnes (Hubert) Schoenfeld. Aggie graduated from Wellesley High School, Class of 1979, and later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Emmanuel College in Boston in 1983. She had worked as a social worker at The Greenery in Brighton, MA. before moving to Maine, where she became a Licensed Social Worker. She enjoyed camping, reading, going for rides around the countryside and attending her children’s sporting events. She was predeceased by her father John Schoenfeld in 1984, and a sister Lizzie Shoenfeld in 2005. She is survived by her husband Scott Ketchen of Winthrop; a son David S. Ketchen of Worcester, MA., and a daughter Julie M. Ketchen of Winthrop; her mother Agnes Shoenfeld of Dedham MA.; two sisters, Ann Croke of Quincy, MA, and Catherine Eckart and her husband David of Walpole, MA.; two brothers, John Shoenfeld and his wife Wendy of Wellesley, MA. and Joe Shoenfeld and his wife Missy of Wilmington, DE.; also several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. A memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 24, at St. Francis Xavier Church, RT. 133, Winthrop. Following the Mass, there will be a celebration of Aggie’s life at Peppers Garden and Grill, Main Street, Winthrop. The family wishes to thank the staff at MaineGeneral Hospice for their care and support during this time. They would also like to thank family, friends and caregivers who spent time with Aggie along the way.
