Andrea Marie Roberts Obituary (1947 - 2014)

AUGUSTA ~ Andrea Marie Roberts, 67, of Augusta, died Thursday December 25, 2014 at her home. She was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on July 15, 1947 the daughter of Frank and Irene (Kostick) Callahan. She graduated from Lackawanna Junior College in Scranton, PA and Mr. Pepin’s Hair Styling Academy in Auburn, Maine. She moved to Maine in 1978, working for 8 years as an area supervisor for J.C. Penney, was co- owner of the Barber-ette Hair Salon in Gardiner and later worked for several years in the Kilowatt Caf at Central Maine Power. Andrea married Paul W. Roberts, of Cincinnati, Ohio on July 4, 1986. He passed away on her birthday, July 15, 2005. Andrea was a member of the American Legion Post 4 Auxiliary, in Gardiner, the Gardiner Elks, and the Eagles Aerie #4330 in Gardiner. Andrea was predeceased by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her step-son, Jonathan Paul Roberts, of Milford; her companion, Robert Emmons, of Augusta; her step-granddaughter, Emily Roberts, of Milford; her aunt and godmother, Marge Jasinski and her husband, Stanley; a cousin, Jeanne Doyle, of Ohio; her special friends, Patricia and Dan Bence, of Gardiner and Laurie and Doug Morgan, of Windsor. A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held at Post 4 of the American Legion, in Gardiner, on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church Street, Augusta.
