Daniel L. Audet Obituary (1963 - 2017)

WINTHROP ~ Daniel L. Audet, 53, of Winthrop, died peacefully, Tuesday February 14, 2017 in Augusta. He was born in Lewiston, October 9, 1963 the son of Leon and Elaine (Wight) Audet. Danny grew up in Winthrop and was a 1982 graduate of Winthrop High School. After high school, Danny worked at several jobs in manufacturing and sales before settling in to his career at D.L. Fleurys and later, Tri- State Police and Fire Equipment where he remained for 25 years. While at Tri-State, Dan made many life-long friendships that included people from all walks of life. He became an expert on the subjects of guns and knives and later developed an interest in antiques. In his earlier years, he became quite knowledgeable about electronics. He collected many interesting items and was known for his big wrist watches. Dan embraced the “Native American way” He will be missed by his many friends. Dan was predeceased by his father, Leon Audet in February of 2016. He is survived by his wife, of 32 years, Sandra (Caouette) Audet; his mother, Elaine Audet; his brother, Tim Audet and his wife, Missy, of Manchester; his nephew, Nickk Child and niece Kyra Audet; special friend, Pat McElroy, of Damariscotta; his aunts and uncles, Christine Hayden and Bruce Little, of Auburn, Patricia Butterfield, of Winthrop, Burton Wight and his wife, Irene, of Lisbon Falls, and Ronald Wight and his wife, Kelly, of Lisbon Falls, and Jacqueline Audet, of Winthrop. Relatives and friends may visit Dan’s family Friday February 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin Street, Winthrop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Saturday February 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Spring burial will be in the Monmouth Ridge Cemetery.
