Diane F. Tozier Obituary (1929 - 2016)

WINTHROP ~ Diane F. Tozier, 87, of Winthrop, passed away on June 20, 2016 at D’Youville Pavillion in Lewiston with family by her side. She was born in Brewer on February 11, 1929, the daughter of Robert and Marjorie (Black) Farrell. She attended and graduated from Hampden Academy and then continued on to attend Beal’s College of Nursing. Diane worked as a nurse for her entire career. After retirement she and her husband, Ralph, resided in Florida during the winter months and spent the summer months at their cottage at Schoodic Lake in Brownville where she enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling, wind surfing and visiting with friends and family. Diane very much loved knitting and crocheting along with many other arts and crafts. Diane and Ralph spent many of their retirement years traveling throughout the country, including spending many years at Deer Isle visiting lifelong friends Beverly and Colby Weed. She enjoyed spending time with close friends Patty Plummer and Darlene Webb as well. Diane was predeceased by her parents Robert and Marjorie, brothers Richard and Gerald Farrell and her first husband, Arthur Smith. She is survived by daughters Judy Ladd and husband, Tom, of Winthrop and Marjorie Goode of Moundsville, WV; grandchildren Paul Salley and wife, Kim, of Holden, Phil Butterfield and wife, Stacie, of Monmouth, Brian Butterfield of Randolph, and Tracie Goode and Trevor Goode, both of Moundsville WV; seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. A private grave side service for the family will be held at a later date.
