Earland W. Webb Obituary (1954 - 2014)

WINDSOR---Earland W. Webb, 59, of Windsor, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, May 17, 2014, at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. Earland fought a heroic battle against terminal cancer for the past year and a half. He was born on November 9, 1954, in Gardiner, ME to Earl E. Webb and Barbara M. (Peacock) Webb. He was the youngest of three boys. Earland graduated from Gardiner High School, class of 1973. He worked 10 years at Hallowell Webb Inc., a family owned automotive parts store in the greater Augusta area. His most recent employment was at Lowes in Augusta where he had many supportive and caring co-workers. His hobbies included attending estate auctions, four-wheeling, and watching sports and car races. Earland’s true passion was his love for horses and harness racing in which he owned and trained over 35 standard-bred race horses, achieving numerous first place finishes. Earland is survived by his son, Travis and wife Soffee Webb; his daughters, Amanda, Lori, and Nicole Webb; their mother, Ruth Webb; his brother, Richard Webb; his brother, Robert and wife Pauline Webb; his granddaughter, Brianna Baker; his Jack Russell Terrier, Cooper, and many close friends and extended family. Earland had a close bond with his oldest brother Richard, whom eased each day of his fight as they shared memorable days spent together. His everlasting love for his children brought joy and purpose to his life and will always live on in their hearts. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 24, at the First United Pentecostal Church of Augusta, 15 Wilson Street off Civic Center Drive. Visiting hours will be from 12-1pm with funeral service to follow. Burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in Windsor. Flowers may be sent to the First United Pentecostal Church.
