Elizabeth Trow Obituary (1924 - 2012)

AUGUSTA—Elizabeth Trow, 88, of Augusta, died Thursday July 12, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Augusta. Betty was born in Hallowell, June 13, 1924 the daughter of Percy and Hazel (Niles) Larrabee. She grew up in Hallowell and was a 1942 graduate of Hallowell High School. She married Howard Trow June 25, 1946 and they had two sons, Dan and Ronnie. Mrs. Trow was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church and served for many years as the Sunday School secretary. She was also very dedicated to helping the mentally challenged and taught several years at the Hallowell School for the Mentally Challenged. After the school closed, she went to work at Togus and worked there until her retirement. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Howard; her parents; a sister, Donna Truman and two brothers, Richard and Phil Larrabee. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Dan Trow and his wife, Cheryl and Ronnie Trow; grandsons, Michael Trow, Norman Trow and his wife, Lora, and Matthew Trow and his girlfriend, Jessica Vigue; five great-granddaughters, Shari, Katy, Kayla, Abbey, and Taya; a sister-in-law and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held at the Augusta First Church of the Nazarene, 30 Nazarene Drive on Tuesday July 17 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Augusta First Church of the Nazarene, 30 Nazarene Drive, Augusta, Maine 04330 or the Charity of one’s choice to help the handicapped.
