Garth K. Currier Obituary (1954 - 2014)

SIDNEY ~ Garth K. Currier, 60, of Sidney, died Wednesday June 25, 2014 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a long battle with heart disease. He was born in New Brunswick, Canada, June 5, 1954 the son of Ralph and Audrey (Wood) Currier. He grew up in Calais, Maine and graduated from Calais High School. Garth married Catherine Jamo in Millinocket in 1975. They later moved to the Robbinston area and raised their family. He worked for the Bangor Daily News as a District Manager, responsible for distribution and collection in Washington County. Garth and Cathy moved to Sidney in 2007. Garth was a people person with an outgoing personality. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren growing up and participating in sports. Mr. Currier is survived by his wife, of 39 years, Catherine Currier; his son, Jason Currier and his wife, Colleen, of Fairfield, CT; his daughter, Sarah Dube and her husband, Bob, of Sidney; a special brother, Greg Currier, whom he loved very much; his grandchildren, Kristen and Sam Dube, Grace, Caroline, and Isabelle Currier and his extended family at Longfellow’s Greenhouses. A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
