Gerry P.(Pelton) Bryant Obituary (1933 - 2014)

WINTHROP ~ Gerry P. (Pelton) Bryant passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, December 15, 2014, at her home in Winthrop. She was 82 years old and was born on January 10, 1933. She is the wife of the late Leon Bryant of Winthrop and the daughter of the late Raymond and Marjorie (Gray) Pelton. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren; she loved gardening and loved to read her books. She put her heart and soul into her cooking and made sure that everyone was together around the kitchen table enjoying her jokes that made everyone smile. Family or not, she always invited you around her kitchen table. Her hard work in the medical field as a nurse changed people’s lives. Her hard work and dedication on her farms taught everyone that to succeed in life you have to work for it and make sure you love what you do. Her sons meant everything to her especially Gary and Kenneth Carter, along with her grandsons Caleb, Matthew Carter and wife Roxanne Carter, who made sure she was well taken care of. Gerry is survived by her two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Kenneth and Lisa Carter of Winthrop, and Gary and Debra Carter of Stafford Springs, C.T., and 5 grandchildren: Matthew and his wife Roxanne, Caleb, Gary and his wife Jennifer, Daniel and Layla Carter and 2 great grandchildren Christopher and Hailey Carter and a great, great grandchild on the way. She also leaves 2 brothers and sister in-laws Donald and Pat Pelton, Robert and Marion Pelton, and a sister and brother-in-law Marie and Donald Baker. She was predeceased by her 2 sisters Ann Moyniham and Betty Tims and a brother Raymond Pelton. Gerry also leaves behind many of the Bryant family; Julie, Jenny, Leon, Leslie, Jenifer and her other son Lloyd that she would never refer to as her stepson. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and grandchildren from the Bryant family. Gerry will be greatly missed by her friends and many more family members that she leaves behind. A private burial will be held at the North Wayne Cemetery in the spring.
