Robert B. Norcross Obituary (1926 - 2012)

AUGUSTA—Robert D. “Bob” Norcross, 85, of Augusta, died Friday May 18, 2012 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born in Winthrop, November 23, 1926 the son of Guy and Edna (Frost) Norcross. He grew up in Winthrop and attended Winthrop Schools. Bob served in the Army during World War II in France and Germany. After the war, he returned home and worked as a farmer in both Hallowell and Augusta. Bob married Susie Maxim of Monmouth in 1948. He was a Life Member of VFW Post 887. Bob was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Karl and Donald and his sisters, Arlene, Ruth, Leila, and Rena. He is survived by his wife, Susie, of Augusta; his sons, Guy “Buster” Norcross and his wife, Tammy, of Augusta and Dean Norcross and his wife, Lisa, of Farmingdale; his daughters, Virginia Morgan and her husband, Robert, of St. Petersburg, FL and Susan Greenlaw and her husband, Steve, of Augusta; a sister-in-law, Connie Norcross, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Wendy Dodge and her husband, Dan, of West Gardiner, Joseph Norcross Bishop and his wife, Kathy, of Virginia, , Jeffrey Morgan and his wife, Kelly, of West Gardiner, and Erik Greenlaw and his wife, Sheena, of Swans Island; three great-grandchildren, Chris Dodge and his wife, Sarah, of Gardiner, Peyton and Lia Morgan, of West Gardiner; step-grandchildren, Alec, Jarryd, and Derrick Roberts, of Farmingdale, Travis Davis, of Auburn and Derrick Davis, of Augusta as well as several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road, in Augusta on Tuesday May 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, Maine 04086.
