Tonda Fern Palmer Obituary (1955 - 2013)

NORTH MONMOUTH ~ Tonda Fern Palmer, 58, died Friday, November 22, 2013 after a short illness at her childhood home in Winthrop, surrounded by her family. She was born in Machias on May 7, 1955, the daughter of William H. and Gwendolyn (Hoar) Gatcomb. Tonda grew up in Winthrop where she was educated in the Winthrop schools, graduating from Winthrop High in the class of 1973. She was employed with Carlton Woolen Mill for several years and was currently working for Insulsafe Textiles in Lewiston. She enjoyed quilting and sewing and loved her daughters and grandchildren. Tonda is survived by her parents; her two daughters and their children, Jessika Lindholm and her significant other, Benjamin White, and her children Taylor, Hunter and Kole and Sara Lindholm and her significant other, Dalvin Ortiz, and her children Jennifer, Angela and Alexander; her brother, William Gatcomb, Jr. and his wife, Susan Smarr, of Los Gatos, CA; and her two sisters, Brenda Gatcomb and her husband, Joseph Lucas, of Northport, FL and Andrea Gatcomb of Winthrop. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at a celebration of Tonda’s life from 3:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, Nov. 26th at Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tonda’s memory may be sent to the Autism Society of Maine, 72B Main St., Winthrop, ME 04364.
