Obituary

Winthrop - Abraham P. ?Skip? Neptune, 54, passed away peacefully on Monday March 22, 2010 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, after a long illness, and with his family by his side. Skip was born on June 3, 1955 in Lewiston, and was the oldest son of Wilton and Harriet Neptune. Skip lived in the Gardiner/Chelsea area, and attended Hall Dale High School. He has resided in Winthrop for 24 years. He loved his community and working with the Special Olympics for many years. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, and a bigger fan of the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and rooting for Dale Earnhart Sr., but his first love was watching his boys play football for our Winthrop Ramblers. He and his son Nick would watch WWF and Skip was working on becoming a Wii pro bowler. He graduated from Northeast Trucking School, and worked as a professional driver for Crocker and Son?s, and before his illness, drove for Dorothy Egg Farms. Skip was a true family man who loved us all very much. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cheryl Neptune of Winthrop; his mother Harriet Neptune of Chelsea and Merrimack, NH.; his children; Joshua Neptune and his fianc? Ashley Kent of Mount Vernon; Michelle Neptune and Nicholas Neptune, both of Winthrop; a grandson Kaden James Neptune; 3 brothers, Michael Neptune and his wife Linda of Augusta, Wilton Neptune and his wife Terry of West Gardiner and Jason Neptune and his wife Melissa of Falmouth; 4 sisters, Linda McClister of Montrose CO., Sharon Lovejoy and her husband Paul of Merrimack, NH., Amy Speck and her husband George of Augusta, and Sandra Armington, also of Augusta; a brother in law Rick McClister of Montrose CO. and a step sister Pamela McCullough of Lewiston; his mother-in-law, Janet (Pray) Richards and her husband, Marvin; sister-in-law, Lisa Stevens and her husband, Donald and many nieces, nephews cousins, aunts and uncles. A celebration of life will be held 11:00am, Friday March 26, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. Condolences to the family may be sent to www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
