Alice V. Thorne 1929-2003 AUGUSTA ? Alice V. Thorne, 73, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at Augusta Rehabilitation in Augusta. She was born in Augusta, May 29, 1929, the daughter of Louis and Mildred (Chase) Veniot. Alice was a member of Wiscasset Bible Baptist Church. She was married to Ronald L. Thorne Sr. for 50 years. She will be remembered by those closest to her as a woman with remarkable love for her church, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her two favorite pug dogs, Molly and Teddy. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; her brother, Kenneth Veniot; and a grandson, Michael Arvayo. She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Thorne Jr. and his wife, Rose, of Warren; her four daughters, Mildred Hatch of Leeds, Beth Ireland and her husband, Eric, of Lynn, Mass., Cheryl Schilling and her husband, Don, of Oakland, and Rhonda Dutremble and her husband, Dennis, of Clinton; 15 grandchildren, one stepgrandchild, 11 great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Father LeClair Memorial Chapel at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
