WESTBROOK - Annie Ruth Grant, 94, formerly of Chelsea, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Springbrook Nursing Home, Westbrook. She was born in Jackson on March 9, 1910, the daughter of Fred and Mildred (Hamlin) Boardman. She had worked in several area shoe shops and was also a bookkeeper. Annie enjoyed carpentry, flower gardening, fishing and being with family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Norman Grant; a son, Fred Stover; a brother, Percy Boardman; and sisters Alice Kenney and Rachel McAvey. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Lou Spiewak and her husband, Richard, of Bow, N.H.; a brother, Carl Boardman of Belfast; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visiting will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will take place on Saturday. Burial will be at a later date in Chelsea Heights Cemetery, Chelsea.
