WINTHROP - On Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, Barbara J. Frost, 73, of Bessie Road, Winthrop, passed away peacefully following several years of struggling with diabetes. Barbara was born on March 24, 1937, in Saco, to the late Marjorie (Rhodes) and Floyd G. Murray. The family moved to North Wayne when Barbara was a child, where she attended school at the old North Wayne Schoolhouse, and later graduated from Winthrop High School in 1955. Barbara married her husband of 55 years, Merle R. Frost, with whom she loved to go ice fishing and snowmobiling with. She also knitted socks for family members for Christmas, and loved to sew and decorate cakes. Barbara was predeceased by a stepgrandson, Christopher Harrington, and her sister, Audrey Goucher. She is survived by her loving husband, Merle, of Winthrop; her children, Joseph Frost, Vicki L. Frost Reynolds, Stephen Frost and Clifford Frost and his wife, Linda, all of Winthrop; her brother, Ronald Murray and his wife, Doris, of Fayette; her grandchildren, Michael Meader, Jodi-Lynn Meader, Vanessa (Reynolds) Roy and her husband, Ben, Cormac Frost, Felicia Frost and Darby Frost; her great-granddaughter, Camdyn Roy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held graveside at 11 a.m. the following Saturday, Nov. 6, at Glenside Cemetery, Turkey Lane, Winthrop. Immediately following the graveside service, the family invites those who wish to continue in the celebration of Barbara's life to a gathering at the North Monmouth Community Church on Main Street in North Monmouth.
