Beatrice Knight Obituary (1932 - 2006)

WINTHROP- Beatrice Kathryn Knight, 73, died Wednesday, August 30th, 2006 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care, Graybirch Drive, Augusta. She was born in Winthrop on November 21st, 1932, the daughter of Andrew and Vivian (Smith) Knight. Bea graduated from Winthrop High School in 1951. She was employed at Digital for many years, retiring in 1992, and later enjoyed working and interacting with shoppers and coworkers at her part time job as a cashier at Mr. Market in Winthrop. She liked word searches and going out to eat. More recently, Bea enjoyed the staff and new friends she made while at Graybirch. She was especially active with, and grateful to, Judy, the activities director. She is survived by her two sons, Mark Merrifield & his wife, Elley, and their daughter, Ariana, of Litchfield and Larry Merrifield and his daughter, Sarah Emery & her husband, Jay, of Winthrop; her two daughters, Kathy Beland & her husband, Brian, and their children, Jacob, Alec, Jillian, and Elijah, of Augusta and Susan Cook and her son, Brandon, of Winthrop; her brother, Andrew S. Knight & his wife, Margaret, of Wayne; and also by her ?family? at Graybirch. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 12:30 ? 2:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 2nd, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a celebration of her life will follow at 2:00 pm. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Coombs Mills Cemetery, corner of Mt. Vernon Road and Leighton Road, Augusta.
