AUGUSTA - Carlton David Crocker, Sr., 98, of Augusta, died Saturday April 14, 2007 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Glenridge Drive in Augusta. He was born December 9, 1908 in Bristol, Maine the son of Roscoe and Nora (Reeves) Crocker. He started his first job at Vickery Hill Publishing in 1926 and later went to work for Hudson Pulp and Paper. He was a foreman for them when he retired. Carlton was known to many as ?Brud? or ?Pampy? He enjoyed working with wood in his spare time and talked of fishing as a younger man. He lived in Carmel for several years but, returned to Augusta when his best friend and companion, Maxine Fogg died. Mr. Crocker was predeceased by his wife, Catherine (Dube) Crocker; his daughter, Margaret Gaslin and four sisters, Allene Dwinell, Anita Pinkham, Louise Bickford and Geraldine Paradis. He is survived by his son, Carlton David Crocker, Jr. of Ft. Walton, FL; his grandchildren, Janet Hickey, of East Winthrop, Beverly Gosselin, of Manchester, Carlton David Crocker, III, of Ft. Walton, FL and Joseph Crocker, of Ft. Walton, FL; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Johnson, Erin Hickey, Justin Gosselin and Sarah Gosselin and two great-great grandchildren, Luke Johnson and Noella Crocker. A graveside service will be held at the Holy Family Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
