SIDNEY - Chester 'Pete' Parlin was born on April 3, 1948, to Victor and Lena Parlin. He went home to his Lord on May 5, 2008, after a long courageous battle with a kidney-related illness. He married Gail Collins on May 6, 1967. They shared many years together enjoying their family, their church family and each other. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Vikki, and her husband, John Stevens, to his son, Peter, and his companion, Alicia Rodriguez, and to his youngest daughter, Marie, and her husband, Chris Sirois. He was a loving grandfather to James and Matthew Henderson, Dylan, Nathaniel and Austin Parlin, and Alexander Sirois. He was predeceased by his father, Victor Parlin; his in-laws, Leon and Edna Fellows; his nephew, Sean Collins; his great-nephew, Trevor Collins; his grandparents, Kenneth and Irene Baker, and Eugene and Nellie Parlin; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his wife, children and grandchildren, he leaves behind his mother, Lena Parlin; his brother, Eugene Parlin; his sister, Linda Parlin; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The greatest husband, the greatest dad, the greatest grandfather, the greatest son, the greatest brother... We will miss you always. He was a member and treasurer of The Apostolic Church in Augusta. Visiting hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at The Apostolic Church, Augusta. Burial will be in Hallowell Cemetery, Hallowell.
