Obituary

WATERVILLE - Constance O. 'Connie' Hodgdon, 78, of Pleasant Street died on Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at the Augusta Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Center. She was born in Van Buren on March 18, 1926, the daughter of David and Emily (Dionne) Ouellette. Connie attended schools in Van Buren and graduated from Husson College with an associate's degree in business. She lived most of her life in Waterville, where she raised her family. She had worked as a secretary for GHM Insurance in Waterville before retiring in 1995. She had spent several years living in West Palm Beach, Fla., before returning to Maine. Connie was an incredibly talented woman who enjoyed knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She is survived by a son, David Hodgdon and his wife, Betty Luckraft, of Smithfield; a daughter, Debra Baeder and her husband, Charles, of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Katherine Hodgdon, and Collyn and Cody Baeder; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting will be held from 10 to11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a celebration of Connie's life will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ralph Boisvert from the Parish of the Holy Spirit in Waterville will officiate. Burial will follow in Robinson Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
