DRESDEN - Cynthia L. Sellew, 64, of Dresden passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Midcoast Hospital in Bath. She was born in Glen Cove, N.Y., on Oct. 14, 1943, the daughter of Raymond C. Jr. and Evelyn (Foster) Kahler. She and her husband, George Sellew Jr., moved to Maine in 1979 and bought the Journey's End Farm and the Dresden Family Inn, in Dresden. They raised Percheron draft horses and together, with their two daughters, loved the farm. Cynthia was a longtime member of the Dresden Historical Society, the Conservation Commission and the Pine Grove Cemetery Association. Mrs. Sellew was predeceased by her husband, George. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Heflin, of Dresden, and Holly Mayo and her husband, Peter, of Dresden; her brother, Raymond C. Kahler III and his wife, Gail, of North Ft. Myers, Fla.; her half-brother, James Clark, of Tampa, Fla.; and her three grandchildren, Peter Mayo Jr., George Mayo and C. Dallis Heflin. Relatives and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Dresden.
