MOUNT VERNON - David Boyd Gliniewicz, 49, of Belgrade Road died on Thursday, June 24, 2004, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville. He was born in Weymouth, Mass., on March 4, 1955, the son of Victor and Mildred (Boyd) Gliniewicz. David was raised and attended schools in Abington, Mass., before moving to Maine. Prior to his illness, David had been employed with Ouellette Associates in Brunswick, where he had many friends in the construction business. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing all his life. David was known for his kindness and generosity by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Victor F. and Mildred R. Gliniewicz. He is survived by two sons, Adam Smith of Mansfield, Mass., and Jesse Austin of Norridgewock; a sister, Nancy Derbyshire of Mount Vernon; his brothers Garritt Gliniewicz of Mount Vernon, Mark Gliniewicz of Belgrade, and Jon Gliniewicz of Oakland; and nieces and nephews Ann Cushing, Jessica Nisby, Jennifer Nisby, Jason Nisby, Victoria Cushing, Emily Gliniewicz and Katherine Armstrong. An open-door gathering of family and friends will begin at noon Sunday, July 11, at Dave's home, 1780 Belgrade Road, Mount Vernon. The family welcomes you to stop by, share a story or two and join them in celebrating Dave's life. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
