Obituary

AUGUSTA - Donald J. Quirion, 49, of Augusta, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010. He was born in Augusta, Jan. 9, 1961, the son of Roger R. and Laurette (Theriault) Quirion. Donald attended Cony High School. He was an Army veteran, serving his country from 1980 to 1986. After he returned from the Army, he worked for several sheetrocking businesses in the Augusta area. Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, wildlife, good entertainment, and going to lawn sales where he was known as 'Wheeling and Dealing Donnie.' Donald was predeceased by his father, Roger Quirion. He is survived by his mother, Laurette Minoty, of Belgrade; a daughter, Kasie Grant, of Arizona; his brother and best friend, Paul Quirion and his wife, a very special sister-in-law, Tammy, of Manchester; his sisters, Ann Elliott, of Augusta, Theresa Rasmussen, of John's Creek, Ga., Patricia Morais, of Farmingdale, and Pamela Genest, of Chelsea; a special nephew, Joe Quirion, of Augusta; his companion, Paula Mason and her son, Danny, of Manchester along with several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Relatives and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Davenport officiating. Mr. Quirion will be laid to rest, next to his father, at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
