AUGUSTA - Doris L. Gagne, 78, died after a short illness on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge, Glenridge Drive, Augusta. She was born in Augusta on March 9, 1926, to the late William Henry and Alice (Latulippe) Gagne. Doris was a graduate of Gates Business College. She and her family spent a year in Florida, where she worked at HP&P Credit Union. Once back in Augusta, Doris worked at and retired from the State of Maine Compensation Board and Hearings Division after 21 years of dedicated service. Later, Doris worked at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge as a receptionist for 11 years up until her illness. She was very active in the MSEA and Women's VFW, and enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. Doris is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kelley of Litchfield; one grandson, Craig H. Lathrop and wife Jennifer of Knoxville, Tenn.; one granddaughter, JoAnn L. Burgess and husband Jamie of Litchfield; and three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Grace and Nicole Lathrop; as well as many cherished friends. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a celebration of her life will be held following visitation at 5 p.m., with the Rev.
