AUGUSTA - Doris M. Struck, 62, of Augusta died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at her home. She was born in Neptune, N.J., on May 31, 1943, the daughter of Raymond and Doris (Southard) Struck. She was a graduate of Winthrop High School and Glen Cove Christian Academy. Doris worked at Bates Manufacturing Co. for several years before becoming a certified nurse's aide. She worked at the Veterans Affairs nursing home until 1994. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, working on her computer and attending Elim Christian Fellowship Church in Augusta. She cared for many children and was known as 'Nanny' to them. Miss Struck was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Lillian S. Estelle. She is survived by a brother, James Struck and his wife, Brenda, of Readfield; an uncle, Andrew Struck and his wife, Peggy, of Winthrop; an aunt, Rose Leighton of Winthrop; nieces Rebecca Miles and Wendy Struck and her fianc?, Chad Conner; a nephew, Jamie Struck and his companion, Lisa Joyner; two great-nephews, Timothy and James; and a great-niece, Mary. Relatives and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Monday at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday. Spring burial will occur at Glenside Cemetery in Winthrop.
