AUGUSTA - Earlene E. Trask, 86, of South Belfast Avenue, died Saturday Dec. 29, 2007, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. She was born in Prentiss on Jan. 11, 1921, the daughter of Austin and Victoria (Severance) McLaughlin. She graduated from Gardiner High School and attended the University of Maine at Augusta. Earlene was a homemaker most of her life, but had worked as a psychiatric aide at Augusta Mental Health Institute from 1960 to 1981. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, working outdoors and corresponding with her many pen pals throughout the world. She was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Trask Sr., in 1969. She is survived by three sons, Clyde Trask Jr. and his wife, Dorothy, of Augusta, George Trask and his wife, Gail, of Gardiner, and Timothy Trask of Augusta; four daughters, Effie Tillson and her husband, Walter Sr., of Sidney, Naomi Buzzell of Augusta, Esther McLaughlin of Bath and Lorraine Shaw of Augusta; two brothers, Ernest McLaughlin of Burlington, Conn., and Henry McLaughlin of Lewiston; four sisters, Gladys Solomon of North Whitefield, Phyllis Casoria of Georgia and Chelsea, Betty Morgan of Macon, Ga., and Myrtle Hoover of Bridgton; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visiting will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 4-7 p.m. at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date at Rest Haven Cemeter in Windsor. www.khrfuneralhomes.com
