Winthrop, ME ~ Ed Reinke, 76, passed away after a short battle with cancer. Ed was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of Bertha and Edward Reinke. Attending college, he graduated with a degree in accounting working for a large firm in NYC for many years. Ed was always willing to help anyone with a tax problem or answer any question. Both Ed and his wife Sue spent many wonderful years at their camp on the lake in Maine. Deciding to retire there, they had a permanent home built. That dream came true in 2003. Ed was an active member of the Winthrop UMC and ushered every Sunday. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Susan, daughter Judith Miller with her husband John Miller, son James Reinke with his wife Michele Reinke, and four grandchildren Amanda, Erin, Chana and Ester. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Winthrop United Methodist Church, Main Street, Winthrop where a celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 11:00 am with reception to follow.
