HALLOWELL ? Eleanor Fifield, 93, of Hallowell died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Augusta, Oct. 13, 1909, the daughter of Walter and Alice (Braun) Fifield. She grew up in Augusta and graduated from Cony High School and later Nasson College. Eleanor worked for the State of Maine, Department of Health and Welfare for many years, retiring in June 1969. She was a member of the Green Street United Methodist Church, the Maine State Employees Association, Area II Chapter, the Maine State Retirement System and the Maine Association of Retired Persons. There will be no visitation or funeral. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Mount Hope Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, Augusta.
