Esther Green Obituary (1919 - 2006)

Augusta - Esther Ada Green, 87, of the Ridge Road, died November 30, 2006 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Graybirch Drive, Augusta. She was born in Cherryfield on April 1, 1919 the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Baston) Tibbetts. She grew up in Rockwood and Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1937. Shortly after high school, she married Richard Green, who worked for the Maine Central Railroad. They had lived in various communities and upon his retirement, they moved to Venice, FL where they had wintered for over 25 years. She moved back to Maine in 2000. Esther loved hunting and fishing which she did at her summer home in Kennebago. She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1976. She is survived by a daughter Janis Stevens and her fianc? Stanley Richardson of Auburn; 4 brothers, Alvin Tibbetts and his wife Gloria of Augusta, Earl Tibbetts and his wife Sylvia of Hallowell, Lawrence Tibbetts and his wife Sandra of Sidney and Lester A. Tibbetts Jr. and his wife Sandra of Winthrop; a sister Thelma Luszezki and her husband Lucien of Winthrop; granddaughter April Thompson of Auburn; grandson Christian Thompson of Naples; 4 great grandchildren Nathaniel Nadeau, Anthony Nadeau, Tiffany Burgess all of Auburn, and Taale Thompson of Naples; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held 11am, Monday December 4, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta. Rev. Richard Kimball, Pastor of the Sixth Street Congregational Church, Auburn, will officiate. Burial will be in the spring at Valley Cemetery, Greene.
