Obituary

MONMOUTH - Frank J. Cielinski, 76, of Welch Avenue died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home. He was born in Lewiston on May 16, 1928, the son of Karol and Stella (Rodzen) Cielinski. He attended Winthrop and Monmouth schools and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. Frank had worked at Bonafide Mills in Winthrop and was a supervisor for Gerber Baby Foods in Rochester. He later worked as a machinist before moving back to Maine in 1965. He married his high school sweetheart in Winthrop on June 21, 1947. Frank and his wife, Shirley, operated Monmouth Printing Co. for many years before retirement. He was a dedicated family man and missed the love of his life, Shirley. Frank was active in community events and served on the board of the Monmouth Sanitary District. He enjoyed socializing around town with many of his friends and also enjoyed his Cub Cadet tractor that many people can recall him riding. Frank was a 32nd degree Mason in the Monmouth Masonic Lodge. He loved his pets, especially Baby, the cat. He liked reading, golfing and fishing and will be missed by many. He was proud of the fact that his father, Karol, traveled from Poland as a teenager and met Stella while they made their home in North Monmouth. He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Cielinski, on Dec. 1, 2001, and also a sister, Louise Dykeman. He is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ellen Grover and her husband, Robert, of Manchester, and Penney Holmes and her husband, Dale, of Brewer; two sons, Kerry Cielinski of Auburn and Craig Cielinski of Rochester; grandchildren Kevin Grover of Livermore Falls, Kristie Grover of Fayette, Brian Grover and his wife, Amy, of Vienna, and Eric and Heather Holmes of Brewer; great-grandchildren Joann and Nikolas Grover of Fayette, Genevieve and Aaron Grover of Turner, and Garrett, Natalie and Daniel Grover of Vienna. There will be no visiting or services at this time. A graveside service for both Frank and Shirley will be held in the spring in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, Pet Haven Lane, Augusta 04330. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St.,Winthrop.
