WEST GARDINER ? George Arthur 'Bud' Pratt Jr., 79, of Hinkley Road, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, in Augusta. He was born in Hallowell, Aug. 29, 1922, the son of George A. Sr. and Louise (Emery) Pratt. Bud was a graduate of Hallowell High School. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He was employed by several foundries in Portsmouth, N.H., Hallowell and Gardiner, retiring in 1985 from J.F. Hodgkin's Foundry. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 5, in Gardiner, and American Legion Goodrich-Caldwell Post 6, in Hallowell. Bud was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was predeceased by four sisters, Lillian, Gertrude, Dorothy and Arlene. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marion Pratt, of West Gardiner; and eight nieces and nephews, David Wheelock, and his wife, Cathy, of West Gardiner, Lee Adams, and his wife, Dolores, of Augusta, Richard Godbout, of Hallowell, Dolores Chandler, and her husband, Jim, of Hallowell, Dorothy Turmelle, and her husband, Lou, of Augusta, Viola Black, and her husband, Harry, of Manchester, June Doody, of Bangor, and Jackie Heber, and her husband, Don, of Lakeland,Fla. There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at Hallowell Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Goodrich-Caldwell Post 6, P.O.
