AUGUSTA -- Helen B. Cartlidge, 90, of Augusta died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation, Graybirch Drive in Augusta. She was born in Bangor on Aug. 4, 1913, the daughter of George and Mary (Smart) Bragdon. Helen was educated in Augusta, graduating from Cony High School in 1931. She married Winfield Cartlidge on Feb. 19, 1938. Helen worked for Central Maine Power Co. for nine years, retiring in 1965. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and a member of Lafayette Chapter, Order of Eastern star; and she was past president of St. Mark's Home for Women. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Winfield; a daughter, Susan Mae Cartlidge; and two sisters, Pauline Prescott and Marion Booth. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Ann Jordan, of Falmouth; two sisters, Barbara Dugan of Gardiner and Patricia Bradford and her husband, Alden, of Augusta; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Jordan of Scarborough and Deborah Hejduk, of Geneva, Ohio; and four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta. Relatives and friends may visit from 1 p.m. until the service time.
