AUGUSTA ? Helen I.D. Welch, 92, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at her daughter's home in Eddington. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was born in Kirkwood, Miss., on Nov. 14, 1910, the daughter of Henry A. and Maud A. (Redmond) Davis. A graduate of Maine Medical Center School of Nursing, Helen was employed at Maine Medical Center and did private nursing as well. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was a longtime member of South Parish Congregational Church in Augusta. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe was predeceased by her husband, Sidney R. Welch; a daughter, Claudia A. Welch; her brother, Richard S. Davis; and her sister, Alwilda Bennett. \r\r\n\r\r\nShe is survived by two daughters, Bethany A. Carter of Eddington and Beverly J. Vincent of Winthrop; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\nA graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Forest Grove Cemetery, Augusta, with Rev. Clifton Davis, from South Parish Congregational Church, officiating. \r\r\n\r\r\nArrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
