WINTHROP - Jason 'Bub' Thomas Ruman, 20, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Bub was born March 7, 1985, in Lewiston, the son of Linda Clark Ruman. He was educated in Winthrop schools and graduated from Winthrop High School in 2003. Bub played varsity football and his senior year was a Campbell Conference All-Star, playing defensive end. Bub worked in various jobs, including wood products and construction. Most recently, he was employed by Five Star Builders. He enjoyed and was very talented in woodworking, metal arts and welding. He spent many hours in his Uncle Bruce's shop, where he completely rebuilt his truck, which was his pride and joy. He also enjoyed working in the woods with his grandfather and fixing the machinery. Bub was a hard worker and a loyal friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends, who were like brothers to him, and was always ready to lend a helping hand when it was needed. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved to hunt, snowmobile and play golf. He was predeceased by his uncle, Bruce Weston Clark, who died on Dec. 3, 2001, and his cousin, Andrew Bruce Clark, who died April 29, 2004. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Linda Clark Ruman of Monmouth; his maternal grandparents, Weston and Patricia Clark of Manchester; his aunt, Patrice Clark of Winthrop; special cousins Miah and Jake Clark of Winthrop, Christopher Clark of Monmouth and Kenny Colomy of Augusta; two great-aunts, Jacquelyn Colomy of Augusta and her family, and Myra Finnemore of East Winthrop; and many friends. Relatives and friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A celebration of Bub's life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Winthrop. Burial will follow in East Readfield Cemetery, Readfield. Memorial donations may be made in Bub's memory to the Winthrop Area YMCA, 31 Town Hall Lane, Winthrop, to benefit the middle-school football program; or the Winthrop Sports Boosters, c/o Sue McCarthy, 455 Winthrop Center Road, Winthrop, to benefit the high school football program.
