AUGUSTA ? Jeanne M. Allen, 74, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Nashua, N.H., May 11, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Mariam (Matheson) O'Clair. She graduated from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and later attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study nautical engineering. She enjoyed traveling through Europe and South America with her husband, Robert L. Allen. She had lived in Missouri from 1968 to 1982 before moving to New Hampshire and later to Maine. She enjoyed going to the symphony, reading and meeting new people. She is survived by a son, Robert Loring Allen and wife Joline of Woolwich; a daughter, Maris Jean Allen of St. Louis, Mo.; grandchildren Vincente Roberto Alvarez, Jeanne Marie Alvarez, Daniel Jay Alvarez and Kelly Allen, all of St. Louis; and nieces and nephews Michael O'Clair, Hannah O'Clair, Temple Allen, Beatrice Allen and Gail Ann Allen. The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who looked after Jeanne, especially Rose Stebbins and the staff at Augusta Rehabilitation. There will be no visitation or services at this time. Those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, Pet Haven Lane, Augusta 04330.
