Obituary

PATTEN - Joanne Marie Bylund, 45, died peacefully in her home in on Saturday, March 13, 2004 from complications with medications and emphysema. Her best friend and partner, Michael Littlefield was by her side. She was born in Worcester, Mass. on March 24, 1958, the daughter of Robert and Sallie (Oslund) Bylund. She had lived in Auburn, Mass. for 14 years where she attended public schools and was confirmed into the Bethel Lutheran Church, which her grandparents were founding members. She moved to Old Orchard Beach in 1975 with her family and graduated from Old Orchard Beach High School. She was also a member of St. Margaret's Church where she briefly taught Catechism. Joanne enjoyed camping, canoeing and swimming at Old Orchard Beach and Tricky pond in Naples. She also enjoyed poetry and writing. She and her partner recently embarked on their 12 year dream of building a log home on their 36 acres by Shin Pond in Patten, overlooking Mount Katahdin and Baxter State Park. She will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Magnus and Agda Bylund and Fritz and Annie Oslund. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Sallie Bylund of Raymond; a daughter , Sara Morey; and a son, Thomas Morey, both of Old Orchard Beach; sister, Nancy Eastwood of Old Orchard Beach; and a brother, Peter Bylund and his wife Joyce of Auburn, Mass.; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Christian memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, at Faith Lighthouse Assembly of God Church, 47 Smith Wheel Road, Old Orchard Beach with Pastor Merle Mitchell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the: American Lung Association 122 State Street Augusta, ME 04330 Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta.
