Jon Michel Ferradou 12-2-64 to 12-19-08 Before I die please hold me close and tell me that you love me and I will do the same. Let us thank one another for the good times and forgive one another for the bad. When all is said and done let us say our sweet goodbyes knowing we will be in each other's hearts forever. And, if perchance I die before I wake, just shut your eyes and say the words in silence I promise I will hear them still. Jon (a.k.a. Frodo, Uncle Jon, Opa, Jonny and Jerry) has long said that when his time came, he wanted to crawl into a dark place and die alone. And, so he did. Jon died in the new fallen snow in his own backyard surrounded by the sweet, deep silence of the night sky. Night has always been Jon's sanctuary, and in it he took his final peace. In the days since his passing, friends and family have wept and smiled, sharing memories of Jon - how he loved to go camping and take road trips to New York City, Provincetown, Albany, and above all to Grateful Dead shows; his appreciation of wonderful food, fine wine and cigars, and microbrews; his unique sense of humor; his honesty and personal honor; his lovable pessimism; his generosity; his personal pride and strong spirit; how he loved his Harris Tweeds and his Siamese cats, his 'boys'; the quiet gentle way he accepted and loved us all just the way we are. Part of Jon has gone to join his parents, Jacques and Josette. And Part of Jon will live on in the hearts of those who love him - wife, Margaret ?Peggy?; sister, Joseline; stepchildren; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law; his many wonderful friends; special family, Fran and Don. Everyone is welcome to attend a celebration of Jon?s life in the spring to be held graveside at Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop, with the day & time to be announced. In Jon's memory, do something kind for someone in need of kindness, and live well all the days of your life.
