Obituary

WINDSOR - Juanita Myrtie Mulherin, 72, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Windsor, with her husband, children and sisters by her side, on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 after an illness with Lou Gehrig?s disease. She maintained her remarkable sense of humor until the very end of her life here on earth. She was born in North Union on October 12th, 1934, the daughter of Oscar and Almacia ?Jane? (Wellman) Upham. Juanita was a graduate of Union High School where she and her sister, Ginny, shined as stars on the basketball team throughout all four years. She married William Mulherin in Wells, Maine and was employed as a nursing assistant at AMHI, also operating a tanning salon out of her home for many years. Juanita was a loving wife, mother and sister and was a wonderful cook. She was predeceased by three of her fourteen brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, William; her four daughters, Pamela Luczski of Jefferson, Virginia Scofield of Vassalboro, Nancy Peabody of Windsor and Theresa Manachio of Vassalboro; her son, Dwight Pettegrove, of Windsor; eleven brothers and sisters; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Juanita?s life will be held in the spring. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church St., Augusta.
