PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. ? Louise G. Holden, 73, of Easton Drive N.W., Port Charlotte, and Winthrop, Maine, died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at her Florida home after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Augusta, Maine, Feb. 18, 1929, the daughter of Ralph and Eleanor (Rankins) Hubbard Sr. Louise was educated in the Augusta and Gardiner area schools. She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, arts and crafts, cross-stitching, crocheting and knitting afghans. She also was an avid reader and did volunteer work at Augusta General Hospital. She married Harold E. Holden on Jan. 29, 1949. She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother, Ralph W. Hubbard Jr. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, H.E. 'Gene' Holden of Winthrop and Port Charlotte; a son, Timothy E. Holden and his wife, Brenda, of Winthrop; a brother, Carl N. Hubbard and his wife, Barbara, of Gardiner; two granddaughters, Tamothy E. Holden and Carrie Reynolds; a grandson, Justin T. Holden; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 15, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m.Tuesday. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta.
