ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Marguerite Ann Briggs, 94, formerly of Winthrop, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at her home in Florida. She was born in Farmington Falls on June 7, 1915, the daughter of Carroll and Martha (Corbin) Hall. She had worked for McKessen Robinson Pharmaceuticals in Bridgeport, Conn., Albany Felt in North Monmouth and later for Laun Shoe Company in Lewiston. She retired from Globe Albany in North Monmouth in the 1960s. She taught oil and watercolor painting for Winthrop Adult Education. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church in Winthrop and the Catholic Women's Club; past president of the Ladies of Saint Anne in Augusta; and member of Holy Cross Church in St. Petersburg and the Alfred Maxwell American Legion Post 40 Auxiliary in Winthrop. She was predeceased by her husband, George Nelson Briggs; two daughters, Joyce Franck and Lucy Ricker; and a sister, Patricia Guibert. She is survived by three sons, Calvert Fullerton, of Windermere, Fla., Charles 'Chuck' Fullerton, of Livermore Falls, and Wilfred Fullerton, of Stewart, Fla.; a daughter, Elaine Fields, of Howell, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Veinotte, of Florida, and Margaret Briggs, of Winthrop; a brother, Oliver Hall, of Westbrook, Conn.; four half-brothers, Carroll Hall Jr. and Robert Hall, both of Amherst, N.H., Norman Hall, of Mont Vernon, N.H., and Thomas Hall, of Milford, N.H.; a sister, Patreace Watson, of Dorchester, Mass.; a half-sister, Teresa Hall, of Ocean City, N.J.; 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 12, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Winthrop.
