Obituary

AUGUSTA ? Marguerite C. Kendall, 90, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, Graybirch Drive, Augusta. She was born in East Pittston, July 3, 1912, the daughter of Harvey and Agnes (Taylor) Thompson. She had worked in the payroll department at Taylor Shoe until the factory closed. She then worked for Hazzard Shoe and later at Hussey Hardware in Augusta. Marguerite was a member of the Rebekahs in Gardiner. She did embroidery and knitting. She especially loved and enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and family gatherings. She was predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Berry and Bernice Eastman, a grandson, Michael Kendall, and a great-granddaughter, Paige Albert. She is survived by two sons, Paul Kendall and wife Lilly of East Winthrop, James Kendall and wife Lise of East Vassalboro; four daughters, Joyce Openshaw of Mount Holly, N.J., Jerrie Mulherin and husband Daniel of Monmouth, Sireta Demo of Zephyrhills, Fla., Nancy McIntosh and husband Frank of Cedar City, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting at this time. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, at St. Mary's Cemetery, Pelton Hill, Manchester. The Rev. Calvin Dame will officiate. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
