AUGUSTA - Marguerite R. Perkins, 87, of Gray Birch Drive, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta. She was born in Augusta on Sept. 16, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Marion (Jones) Christian. Marguerite graduated from Cony High School in 1941 and attended Thomas College in Waterville. She had worked as a medical secretary for several area doctors and dentists. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in her garden and feeding the birds. She was a member of the Augusta Nature Club and the American Legion Post 205 Auxiliary. She had a love for animals, especially her dog Missy. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles D. Perkins, in 1984. She is survived by three daughters, Marsha Morgan and her husband, Peter, of Windham, Cheryl Campbell and her husband, Ralph, of Wiscasset, and Debra Getchell and her husband, Jason, of Belgrade; four grandchildren, Tracy Morgan, Michael Morgan, Heather Deschaine and her husband, Richard, and James Campbell; a great-grandson Lorik Morgan, and several cousins. At her request, there will be no visiting. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta.
