AUGUSTA - Mary Theresa (Tressi) Pickel, 49, of Augusta and Houlton passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Baltimore, Md., on April 15, 1956. She was the daughter of Francis and Mary (Kornick) Grim of Winthrop, as well as the wife of Carl Pickel of Augusta, and mother of Karl Ryan Murphy of Augusta and Melanie Theresa Murphy of Boothbay. Mary loved helping others, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and being in the outdoors, and she had a great love of nature. She also is survived by her siblings, Mary Cecilia and Arlie Adams of Ohio, Francis David Grim of West Virginia, Robert Phillip and Marie Grim of Pennsylvania, her twin sister, Mary Francis, and George Brown of New Limerick, Michael Joseph and Donna Grim of Topsham, Charles Richard and Lisa Grim of Ludlow, and Mary Louise Grim of Winthrop; along with several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Anne Marie Noonan of Littleton. Viewing for family and friends will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, ME 04364. A celebration of Tressi's life will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Blanchette officiating.
