AUGUSTA - On Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, Mary Josephine Willette, 81, of Augusta left this world to share eternal life with those who have gone before her. She will forever rest in peace. \r\r\n\r\r\nMary was born in Augusta on Jan. 16, 1923, the daughter of William and Josephine (Phelps) Hurley. She was a graduate of Cony High School and the nursing program at Augusta General Hospital, class of 1945. She moved to Presque Isle, where she met and married her husband, Walter D. Willette. They were married for 56 wonderful years. Mike and Jeffrey predeceased their mother. \r\r\n\r\r\nMary worked for several years at Augusta General Hospital and, as it later became known, Kennebec Valley Medical Center. In her retirement, Mary still enjoyed 'the nurses,' her friends from long ago. \r\r\n\r\r\nMary leaves behind her son, Pat and his wife, Sue, of Sidney; her daughter, Missy, of Sidney; her grandsons, Derek and Travis and his fiancee, Crissy Gosline; her two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Cole, and one soon to arrive; several of her husband's siblings and their families, who were held dear to her heart; her two special hairdressers, Yvonne and Maryann; and her wonderful neighbors, the Briggs. \r\r\n\r\r\nRelatives and friends may visit 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta.
