AUGUSTA - Marylin (Reynolds) Foster, 81, of Wayne passed away on Dec. 7, 2005, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Glenridge, Augusta. She was born in Sidney on Feb. 24, 1924, the daughter of Cedric Reynolds and Doris (Wyman) Reynolds. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1942 and moved to Connecticut, where she worked for General Electric. She subsequently returned to Maine, married Charles Robert 'Bob' Foster and raised three children in Wayne, where she resided for 42 years. Marylin worked many years as a teller supervisor for the Winthrop Maine Federal Credit Union, where she was the first employee hired by its founder, Marion Healey. Very patriotic, she was, at one time, president of the Winthrop American Legion Auxiliary. She also was very active for many years with the annual local and state level Girls State program. Marylin and her husband were active weekend sailors, participating in many lightning-class sailboat races; and she was a life member of the Androscoggin Yacht Club. Among her other interests were bowling, crossword and jumble puzzles, flying airplanes with her husband, visiting their home in Sarasota, Fla., and spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Robert 'Bob' Foster; two brothers, Bion and Cedric Reynolds; and a sister, Lois Reynolds Palmer Charron. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Sharon Bonney and her husband, Charles, Charles 'Chip' Foster and his wife, Laurie, all of Wayne, and Mary Becker and her husband, Ted, of Cleveland, Tenn. She also is survived by a brother, Howard Reynolds of Southern Pines, N.C.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her family would like to express its appreciation to the staffs of the Alzheimer's Care Center in Gardiner and the Glenridge nursing care facility in Augusta for the loving care shown to Marylin over the last five years. A memorial service for Marylin will be held at Wayne Community Church on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the scholarship fund at the Wayne Community Church, P.O. Box 300, Wayne 04284. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.
