Matthew Leavitt Obituary (2004)

WINTHROP - Matthew Ryan Leavitt, infant son of Michael J. Leavitt and Sarah A. McIlveen, was born and died, surrounded by love, on Aug. 3, 2004, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. Some souls touch our lives for only a brief moment but leave footprints on our hearts forever. It is amazing that the rest of the world just keeps going on. How can that be when our very life has been so changed in only a moment? Matthew, you will be deeply missed by your mom and dad, Michael J. Leavitt and Sarah A. McIlveen, of Winthrop; sister Eliza Leavitt; brothers Joshua Mathews, Justin Leavitt and Michael Leavitt Jr.; maternal grandmother Ann Erwin and husband, Bill, of Winchester, N.H.; maternal grandfather John McIlveen of Shirley, Mass.; paternal grandmother Marjorie Dolan of Lewiston; and aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be a private gathering to honor Matthew's life. Burial will be in Glenside Cemetery, Winthrop.
