AUGUSTA ? Muriel Grace Quirion, 84, of Augusta died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at Nicholson's Longterm Care Facility in Winthrop following a long illness. She was born in Augusta, April 10, 1918, a daughter of Blaine S. and Edith (Clark) Worthley. Muriel was a graduate of Cony High School and Gates Business College. She was married to Lionel J. Quirion of Waterville, Jan. 11, 1949, until his death in January of 1993. Muriel was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, Small Business Administration and Selective Service before retiring from federal service in 1973. She was active in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) for many years. After retirement, Muriel and her husband Lionel enjoyed several years of managing an oceanside motel at Longboat Key, Fla. They also enjoyed spending some additional years in Sarasota, Fla. 'Auntnie' (as she was known to her family) loved her gardens and flowers, and she taught her niece Janice how to enjoy the beauty of God's world. Muriel was a woman of great courage throughout a long illness and was a kind and thoughtful friend to many. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy M. Hinkley. She will be lovingly remembered by her niece, Janice Muriel Hinkley Anderson and husband Frederick E. Anderson of Winthrop; greatnephews, Stephen K. Anderson of Wilmington, N.C., and Jeffrey S. Anderson and wife Beth of Asheville, N.C. Visiting hours will be 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Roberts Funeral Home, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop, where a funeral and committal service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ernest Johnson, pastor of the Manchester Community Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Augusta
