Obituary

AUGUSTA - Nancy Schuster, 69, of Augusta, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. She was born in Gardiner, Nov. 18, 1940, the daughter of John and Kathleen (Triano) McAllister. Nancy attended Cony High School, where she excelled at basketball. She later transferred to Gardiner High School, where she graduated. Nancy worked for the state of Maine for 10 years but left to work in the private sector, where she held various jobs. She also volunteered as a fund raiser for several local charities. Nancy's hobbies included browsing the Internet, crafts, decorating cakes, doing puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She also had her own part-time business picking berries during the growing season. Ms. Schuster was predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Coralie McAllister; and a brother, Waldo 'Biff' McAllister. She is survived by her daughters, Tina Black and her husband, William, of Bowdoin, Kim Ingraham and her husband, Scott, of Augusta and Leigh Cotnoir and her husband, Scott, of West Gardiner; her brother, Robert McAllister, of Lincoln, Neb.; her grandchildren, Zachary, Dalene and Jason Black, Felicia Ingraham, Courtney, Reid and David Cotnoir; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Godbout and Sierra Brown; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Augusta on Saturday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home the day of the service, or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.
