Chelsea - Nelson F. Creamer, 60, of Chelsea passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, after a long battle with cancer. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was born in Damariscotta on Aug. 2, 1945, the son of Frank and Hazel (Norton) Creamer. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe attended school in Damariscotta and at the age of 17 joined the military. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam for six years. After the military he went back to Damariscotta where he was a fisherman for many years. He later moved to Augusta and worked at Edwards Manufacturing Co. as a millwright until it closed. \r\r\n\r\r\nNelson enjoyed being outdoors and working around the house. He also enjoyed the company of family and friends, and especially, his best friend of all, his dog Bandit. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary L. Creamer, and a daughter, April M. Creamer; two daughters from a previous marriage, Tammy Dotson and Charlene Terry; and a son, Frank Creamer; two sisters, Yvonne Waltz and Sally Witham; and also many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\nVisiting will be held Tuesday April 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Rome.
