CANAAN ? Ralph J. Wing Sr., 78, of Battle Ridge Road, formerly of North Leeds, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was born in Leeds, March 9, 1924, the son of Harold B. and Edna (Rose) Wing. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe graduated from Leavitt High School and had served in the Army. He worked for International Paper Company for 27 years until his retirement. In 2002, Ralph moved from Leeds to Canaan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising horses. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Wing, in 1980; two brothers, Roy Wing and Roland Wing; and a grandson, Shane Wing. \r\r\n\r\r\nHe is survived by a son, Ralph J. Wing Jr., and his wife, Brenda, of Bristol, Conn.; a daughter, Sheila Bailey and her husband, Robert, of Kingwood, Texas; a close friend and companion, Clara Morris of Canaan; three grandchildren, Matthew Bailey and Michael Bailey, of Kingwood, and Michelle Wing of Marathon Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. \r\r\n\r\r\nVisiting hours will be private. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at Leeds Center Cemetery on Route 106. The Rev.
