UNION ? Richard O. Cunningham, 72, of Union died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2003, at Seven Tree Manor in Union. He was born in North Whitefield on Dec. 24, 1930, the son of Newell and Isabelle (Dodge) Cunningham. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1953. Mr. Cunningham is survived by three brothers, Rodney Cunningham of Portland, Newell Cunningham Jr. of Belfast and Donald Cunningham of Belfast; six sisters, Donna Babb of Oregon, Mary Cunningham of Oregon, Rachel Potter of California, Victoria Metzer of California, Beatrice Philbrook of Belfast and Gloria Freydl of Oregon along with many nieces and nephews. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5 in the chapel of the New Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
