AUGUSTA - Robert Leslie Brown, 63, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 27, 2006.
He was born in Portland on Nov. 6, 1942, the son of Robert Leslie Brown Sr. and Emma (Urquhart) Brown.
Robert was raised in Gardiner and resided in Augusta for most of his adult life.
He volunteered at the Augusta Soup Kitchen and was an extremely helpful and friendly neighbor.
He enjoyed being with his family, especially at his family cookouts in the summer months.
He was predeceased by his father and his longtime companion, Penny Peterson.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Hatch, of Winthrop; his four siblings, David and Roberta Brown of Corinna, Floyd and Cynthia Brown of Monmouth, Sharon and Calvin Pushard of Jacksonville, Fla., and Carl and Beth Jones of Monmouth; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held graveside at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at Hallowell Cemetery.
